Manuel Neuer became a father for the first time – parents and child are doing well

It could be his year: goalkeeper Manuel Neuer returns to the national team squad after a long injury – and recently became a father for the first time.
Manuel Neuer and his Anika rarely appear
Manuel Neuer hasn’t been married to his Anika for long. The couple only said yes at the end of 2023. The footballer’s second marriage takes place largely away from the public. The couple is rarely seen together in public appearances. The engagement more or less only became known at the Oktoberfest, when a ring was spotted on handball player Anika Bissel’s hand.
It is the second marriage for Manuel Neuer. In 2017 he married his first wife Nina Weiß, whom he divorced around three years later.
For the young couple, an exciting and probably relieving year begins with the birth of their son. Manuel Neuer broke his lower leg while skiing in December 2022, which meant he was out as Bayern goalkeeper until the end of the season. Neuer only returned to the Bayern team in October 2023.
Returning after a long injury
Together with his colleagues Marc-André ter Stegen, Bernd Leno and Oliver Baumann, Neuer will once again be in goal for Germany in the upcoming European Championship. The professional soccer player has been playing for the national team for 14 years. He has already played 117 games for the DFB team and has appeared on the pitch more than 500 times for Bayer. His contract with Bayern currently runs until June 2025.
His wife Anika most recently played handball for ESV Regensburg. As early as November 2023, her club confirmed that she would no longer be used in the current season. This had fueled rumors about offspring, which now, a few months later. have proven true. Aside from sport, Anika Neuer is said to work – or have worked – for the traditional costume label “Kinga Mathe” on Tegernsee.
