The trial for the rape of two children, 5 years old at the time of the facts, opens this Monday before the assizes of the Pyrénées-Orientales. A 64-year-old man is accused of rape of a 15-year-old minor and sexual assault on a 15-year-old minor by an adult having authority over the victim.
The facts date from 1992, but were revealed by one of the victims in 2015. A young woman, then aged 28, then explained to the gendarmes that she had been raped at the age of 5 by her uncle, while he was on vacation with her grandmother, in Argelès-sur-Mer, a town located about 25 kilometers south of Perpignan.

She then explains to the investigators that her cousin had also been raped by this man, a statement confirmed by the latter. Arrested, the man would then have confessed the facts. His trial, which opens on Monday in Perpignan, is due to end on Wednesday.
