His tenant could not be reached and had not paid his rent for several months. These are the reasons which pushed the owner of an apartment, rue Jean Mermoz, in Toulouse, to call the firefighters to the scene on Tuesday morning.
But when they entered the apartment through the window, they were far from imagining the macabre discovery that awaited them. A mummified body was found, through various accumulated belongings – the tenant was probably suffering from Diogenes syndrome.
Died…several years ago
Our colleagues of France 3 Occitanie inform us that after making their way through the pile of objects piled up in the apartment, the Toulouse firefighters came across the body of the man, totally mummified.
Aged 59, the man lived alone in this apartment and died several years ago. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the precise causes of his death.
