The “Kartoffelkombinat”, Germany’s first cooperatively organized solidarity agriculture, has 2500 members. The comrades can help with weeding and harvesting and are given a box of vegetables every week. A visit to the field.

Under a hood of snow, rose and kale wait to be harvested and to wander into the boxes of the potato comrades. There is not much going on in the fields of the potato combine in Spielberg in the Fürstenfeldbruck district at the moment. In summer, however, on many weekends you can see ten, 15 or even 30 people who have come from town to garden, pull weeds and harvest tomatoes or apples.
