Drunken and rowdy tourists at the “Ballermann” in Mallorca are a thorn in the side of the restaurateurs at the “Playa de Palma”. You rely on the services of a private investigator and want to file a complaint.

In the fight against so-called drinking tourism Mallorca, the hoteliers on Playa de Palma want to use a private detective again this summer. This was announced by the acting chairman of the Playa Hotel Association (AHPP), José Antonio Fernández de Alarcón, in an interview with the regional broadcaster IB3, as reported by the “Mallorca Zeitung”. However, it is not yet clear when the detective will start work and how long his assignment will last. Upon request, the AHPP said it was still in the planning phase.

Due to the excesses at the notorious “Ballermann”, the German holiday resort in the south of the Spanish Mediterranean island, the AHPP used a private investigator for the first time last summer. The man documented 812 violations with photos and videos within just nine days – “and that alone in three streets,” emphasized Fernández de Alarcón.

The excesses, which according to entrepreneurs and residents at the “Ballermann” are getting worse every year, include theft, fights, alcohol consumption on the street and the sale of alcohol outside the permitted times. Investigations by the local police almost never exist, explained Fernández de Alarcón. This year they want to report themselves.
