According to the German Weather Service, on Whit Monday the focus of the thunderstorm will shift slightly towards the north. There may be another chance of severe rain in the southwest on Tuesday.

In the Southwest Germany may experience severe rain again after Pentecost. “Things will get interesting on Tuesday. Then a low is expected to form north of the Alps, which will move northwest towards western Germany over the course of the day and on Wednesday night and will strengthen in the process,” said meteorologist Markus Böse from the German Weather Service (DWD) on Sunday Offenbach. “On its southern side, heavy rainfall is again developing, which from today’s perspective is mainly affecting the southwest of the country.”

According to the meteorologists, an exact forecast is difficult because the exact centers and the amounts of rain are currently calculated very differently by the models. But: “Parts of Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland and Baden-Württemberg will probably be affected.” Although the calculated amounts of rain are not as high as last Friday, most of the rain comes from the sky within 6 to 12 hours, said Böse. And if Saarland and the Palatinate are again the focus of rainfall, rising water levels and possibly floods and floods must be expected there again.
