“Major operation” to save six fishermen from shipwreck

The night from Monday to Tuesday was not easy for these six fishermen. While they were off the island of Sein (Finistère), the net of their trawler got stuck in the propeller, causing them to drift dangerously towards the rocks.

An emergency situation which required the intervention of two vessels from the French Navy and sea rescuers from the SNSM, reports the Atlantic maritime prefecture. Cross (regional operational surveillance and rescue center) Corsen supervised this “major operation”.

The boat was finally able to be stabilized and its towing began shortly before midnight. A delicate maneuver which only ended in the early morning, around 5:15 a.m., when the boat arrived “safely” at the port of Saint-Guénolé.
