There was this speech, long before October 7th, before Gaza, before Ukraine, back when in principle everything was still good because it was just a pandemic, the Chancellor said: “It’s serious. Take it seriously. ” And that sounds quite sensible at first: serious things should be taken seriously. Except that so much has been so serious since then that maybe it’s time to take it with some humor.
