Main route Munich: construction work impede S-Bahn traffic – Munich

Passengers on the Munich S-Bahn have to be prepared for restrictions in S-Bahn traffic on the November weekends, the reason: Deutsche Bahn (DB) uses the weekends in particular to expand the infrastructure. In the western main line area, work is being done on auxiliary bridges for the new environmental network tube at the Laimer underpass and on the Sendlinger Spange as well as on points and overhead lines for the second main line. The construction work for the new electronic interlocking at Ostbahnhof continues. There, the DB sets up new signals with a helicopter, among other things.

The following applies next weekend: From Friday, November 4th, 10:30 p.m. to Monday, November 7th, 4:40 a.m., no S-Bahn trains will run between Pasing and Laim, in regional traffic there will be some failures between Pasing and the main station. Replacement buses usually run every five minutes between Pasing and Laim, and every ten minutes during off-peak times. In addition, the tram 19 is in use with more trips. Only the S 1 and S 2 run without restrictions on the rails. The S 2 West is more frequently on the road during the day and also runs through the main route. The S 7 also runs through the main route, but passengers have to change trains at Ostbahnhof.

The S 1 runs without restrictions. The S 2 runs on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 9.10 p.m. between Dachau and Ostbahnhof every ten minutes. There is no S 3 between Pasing and Hackerbrücke during the day and between Pasing and Laim at night. The S 4 is no longer used between Pasing and Trudering.

The S 6 and S 7 swap line numbers at Ostbahnhof: S 6 trains from the direction of Ebersberg continue from Ostbahnhof as S 7 to Wolfratshausen. S 7 trains from Wolfratshausen continue from Ostbahnhof as S 6 to Ebersberg. In the west, there is no S 6 between Pasing and Ostbahnhof. S 7 trains coming from the east turn around at Ostbahnhof. The S 8 is no longer available between Pasing and Johanneskirchen (there is an SEV between Ostbahnhof and Johanneskirchen due to overhead line work on the S 8).
