Magician Ben Aymerich will tell “with cards” how he ended up there

Ben Aymerich has a little extra something: he is a magician. It has become his passion, since he witnessed, one evening, somewhat by chance, in a restaurant in the depths of Aveyron, while he was still a young teenager, the sleight of hand tricks of ‘a colleague. “I was so curious, I absolutely wanted to know what was behind it! », smiles this 27-year-old Montpellier resident. Since then, Ben Aymerich has made illusion his profession, and won several awards, and he travels on stages around the world, at cocktails, weddings, birthdays and team buildings. “It’s something I’ve wanted to do for years,” he confides. But the first time he participated in the telecrochet casting, a few years ago, “it didn’t work,” he smiles. But a few months ago, a member of the show’s production team called him, after being blown away by the video of the young man’s trick. And this time, the magic worked: Ben Aymerich flew over the casting and was able to walk on the stage of “France has incredible talent”. With a number of which he keeps a secret, during which, he whispers, he “tells a story with cards”, with humor and emotion. “I explain how I ended up on this show! “, he confides.

“What people want is emotion, not just technique”

Under the eyes of Eric Antoine, a star of magic in France. “I didn’t really have any particular apprehension about performing in front of him, because I knew that he was always extremely benevolent, always very respectful of the work of these professionals, who come to put their careers on the line on this show,” confides Ben Aymerich. I didn’t do a trick for a magician, I did a trick for people. » And people, “what they want is emotion, not just technique,” he explains.

Simplicity is the credo of Montpellier. And cards, his favorite accessory. “We can do so much with cards!” I also like to use objects that speak volumes to people. Telephones, in particular,” he confides. So David Copperfield, who promises to make the Moon disappear next February, isn’t really his thing. “He’s a legend, obviously,” recognizes Ben Aymerich. But that doesn’t make me dream. » He prefers “someone who comes out of nowhere, like Markobi [qualifié pour la finale de La France a un incroyable talent], a very good friend, with whom I have worked for years. A guy who shows up, lost, beside his sneakers, who drives people crazy with his tricks… We identify with him. » What if Ben Aymerich also slipped away, like his magician friend, in the final phases of the show?
