Macron looks at pro high schools, the civil service recruits and electoral test for Sunak

Did you miss the news this early morning? We’ve put together a recap to help you see things more clearly.

The day after the rejection by the Constitutional Council of a new request for RIP, Emmanuel Macron will continue this Thursday to go to the field in an attempt to turn the page on the pension crisis. He is expected this time in Charente-Maritime to present the reform of the vocational high school, after that of apprenticeship. The Head of State will go to the Bernard Palissy technological and vocational high school in Saintes, accompanied by the Ministers of National Education Pap Ndiaye, Labor Olivier Dussopt and Vocational Education Carole Grandjean. According to the Elysée, the three priorities of the reform are “the fight against dropping out of school, improving professional integration and recognition of the work and commitment of the teaching staff”.

The government will try, from this Thursday, to reverse the disaffection for jobs in the public service. For this, the executive is launching a vast recruitment campaign around the slogan “Choose public service”, with the key to a salon in Paris. Bordeaux University Hospital, Nord department, Court of Auditors… around fifty stands, mostly run by public employers from the State, hospitals and communities are planned at Station F (13th arrondissement), while nearly 58,000 jobs are currently available in the public sector. Individual CV preparation workshops and mock job interviews will also be offered to the 5,000 registered visitors to the show, in addition to various conferences and round tables throughout the day.

Rishi Sunak will have the opportunity this Thursday to find out what part of the population thinks of his policy. Voters are being called to the polls in England for a test local election for the ruling Conservatives, ahead of legislative elections scheduled for next year which promise to be difficult for the Prime Minister’s party. More than 8,000 seats are at stake in 230 local authorities during this election which introduces an unprecedented requirement, that of presenting an identity document in order to be able to vote.
