In several cities in France, town halls are opposing the advertising campaign launched in recent days for the book Transmania by Dora Moutot and Marguerite Stern.
Deemed transphobic and conspiratorial, the work is promoted in Lyon by JCDecaux.
But the latter, requested by the Lyon town hall, decided to end the campaign and remove the posters from its street furniture.
The deputy mayor in charge of Security Mohamed Chihi believes that people could have been “legitimately shocked” by this highlighting of the book-investigation on “the excesses of transgender ideology” in the streets of the capital of Gaul, with the slogan: “When transgender ideology infiltrates all spheres of society… or the story of one of the biggest conceptual heists of the century”.
“We immediately contacted JCDecaux, which decided this morning to remove these posters contrary to their Code of Ethics. Thank you for their rapid reaction”concludes the elected environmentalist.
For its part, JCDecaux presented “(his) apologies to the people these posters may have offended” in a reaction to the media Stubborn.
Good morning @Gregorydoucet. Advertisements for a transphobic book have popped up in our city. Transphobia is a crime. The Paris town hall has announced its desire to remove these posters. Are you going to do the same? pic.twitter.com/sYd7Res2W1
