At the end of the season, those responsible for the Luisenburg Festival are already looking ahead to the coming year: German-Czech history is set to play an important role in 2023. Director Birgit Simmler writes the musical “Cold Freedom – Spy between the borders”. Simmler was “very satisfied” with this year’s season, which ends on Thursday, September 1st. With around 100,000 tickets sold, the occupancy rate is around 70 percent of a normal season. The Corona summer wave then made itself felt. The musical “Sister Act” will be performed again next year on the impressive open-air stage in the Fichtelgebirge. As a family play, “Beauty and the Beast” will be shown in a new drama version, and “Frankenstein” and “Brandner Kaspar 2 – He Returns” will also be part of the program.
