Luis Enrique denounces “false news” on the possible insult of Mbappé

Paris SG coach Luis Enrique denounced on Tuesday “speculation of all kinds” about his relationship with Kylian Mbappé and the superstar’s reduced playing time since she announced her departure to her leaders. The day before the Coupe de France semi-final against Rennes, the Spanish technician was questioned, at a press conference at the PSG Campus in Poissy (Yvelines), about the player’s attitude when he left at the hour mark against Marseille on Sunday (2-0 victory).

“What is curious is everything that is said, among some of the journalists, based on false news,” complained Luis Enrique. “Someone invented an insult and from there there is speculation of all kinds…”

Kylian has always behaved admirably

Kylian Mbappé also posted on Instagram a photo of himself, from behind, holding the captain’s armband in his hand which he was about to give to a teammate.

Luis Enrique said: “I am experiencing all this with total tranquility. I am very happy with all my players, Kylian included, he has always behaved admirably.” The comments, “it doesn’t affect me, I don’t listen, I don’t read,” insisted the former coach of FC Barcelona, whom PSG will face in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on 10 and 16 april.

PSG, quiet leader of the championship, is still in the race for a historic treble: “I would love it to end well for PSG, for Kylian, for everyone… We are all in the same boat, who sails and who seeks its port, with success,” underlined Luis Enrique.
