Lozère and Gard placed in orange vigilance for rain and floods

Meteo France placed this Friday two departments in the South-East, Lozère and Gard, in orange vigilance for rain and floods. “The duration of the rains, their intensities and ultimately the expected accumulations, require special vigilance,” warned the meteorological agency, in a national vigilance bulletin.

A Cévennes episode is planned. “The maximum activity is expected between this Friday evening and Saturday afternoon in the Cévennes, where the showers will temporarily take on a stormy character in the night from Friday to Saturday with rain intensities which will intensify, adds Météo-France. The cumulative Cévennes expected until Saturday evening will be 140 to 180 mm generalized, occasionally 200 to 240 mm ”.

Over the entire episode, until Sunday, indicates the Météo-France bulletin, they will be of the order of 150 to 200 mm generalized, occasionally 250 to 300 mm. In the rest of the departments, the accumulations should remain between 40 to 60 mm.
