The red-green coalition agreement for Lower Saxony is in place. Today, at an extraordinary party conference in Hanover, the Greens approved the agreement with a large majority.

There were only a few votes against and abstentions. According to top candidate Julia Willie Hamburg, the coalition agreement bears a clear green handwriting. Red-Green will accelerate the expansion of renewable energies and push the traffic turnaround. The coalition agreement with the SPD is to be signed on Monday. The SPD, which is prime minister in Stephan Weil, already ratified the basis for forming a government on Saturday. The new Lower Saxony state parliament will then be constituted on Tuesday. In all likelihood, the deputies will elect Weil with the red-green majority for a third legislative period. At least 74 yes votes from 146 deputies are required for re-election. Then Weil introduces his cabinet with the ministers.
