“Wow, everything is actually different now,” Sylvie Meis will probably think about “Love Island”. There is a surprise right at the start.

Today, March 21, “Love Island – Hot Flirts & True Love” is now in its seventh season. Sylvie Meis (43) will moderate again. However, the Islanders will encounter a special surprise right from the start. Meis will announce on the first evening that the men and women will not move into the large villa together, the broadcaster explains in a statement. And there will be no “mating ceremony” either.

The candidates must therefore sleep separately for the time being. The first night they will only be able to flirt. The men are moving into a second villa, which the broadcaster has dubbed “Brotel”. There you will find, among other things, a 100 square meter fitness area, a pool and an outdoor kitchen.

Sylvie Meis does not know what will happen

The broadcaster had already announced in February that there should be some innovations. As soon as they moved in, candidates and the TV audience would get “a lot of surprises”, RTLzwei announced at the time.

“I’m facing a season in which I really don’t know what’s going to happen,” says Meis in an interview with the news agency spot on news. The presenter will “probably stand there in amazement again and think: ‘Wow, everything is actually different now.'” At the same time she announces: “I know that we will achieve the goals that we have with this season and that the audience and the Islanders will often fall off their stools.”

RTLzwei will show the opening episode today at 8:15 p.m. The other issues will then be available from March 22nd, Monday to Friday and Sundays at 10:15 p.m. The episodes will also be available on RTL+ afterwards.
