Former Foreign Minister Heiko Maas and his ex-wife Corinna are a couple again. This is reported by the “Bild” newspaper. After eight years of marriage, the two separated in February 2016, but continued to look after their sons together. Through this connection, the new old love was rekindled.
The former politician was with actress Natalia Wörner for seven years. Maas and Wörner are said to have met in 2014 at an event organized by the actors’ association BFFS. Over time, friendship turned into love. They were considered a dream couple from politics and show business. The couple announced their separation in August 2023.
At this point, Corinna is said to have been separated from her partner at the time, the newspaper reports. Since autumn 2023, the two have “spent more time together again, as a couple and also with their sons, who both live in Berlin”. Both are currently looking for a house together in Saarland.
According to “Bild”, the two were seen hand in hand on the market square in Saarlouis at the weekend. “The family – my wife Corinna and my sons – are the center of my life: you leave from there and return there again,” Maas was quoted as saying in an SPD party brochure in 2009 – now what he said back then is apparently coming true .
The former foreign minister has now retired from politics. Maas resigned from his Bundestag mandate on December 31, 2022. Since then, the qualified lawyer has worked as a partner for a Berlin law firm.
