Louis Leterrier puts the turbo for the penultimate part of the saga

In the Toretto family of which Vin Diesel is the patriarch, I ask… everyone! Fast & Furious X by Louis Leterrier is the beginning of the end: the first part of a diptych that will close the saga. To close the shop, the French director let loose like a kid to whom we would have entrusted firecrackers and a circuit of small cars. His film, uninhibited entertainment, brings together all of Vin Diesel’s accomplices plus a super villain played by Jason Momoa.

” I am fan of Fast & Furious since the first part that I saw with Jason Statham while I was filming The carrier with him, confides the filmmaker to 20 minutes. This projection influenced me a lot. Being in charge of the last two episodes is a consecration for me. I wanted to put action and heart into it. This mixture that makes the charm of the saga is more present than ever in this episode where the hero’s son is targeted.

Of family and action

“Family has always been at the center of the Fast & Furious,” says Louis Leterrier and she is also on the set. Everyone was kind to the newcomer that I am. “If it is not necessary to have seen the previous parts to follow, it is clear that it is a major asset to know the characters that we enjoy finding. We advise in this regard not to miss the post-generic sequence.

Of course, the pursuits and destruction are as numerous as they are varied: a real treat for action fans who won’t believe their eyes, especially during a bewildering scene in the streets of Rome. “I wanted to go back to stunts that were a little more realistic,” says Louis Leterrier. No question of going into space like in opus 9 but that does not mean that the heroes keep their feet on the ground: they much prefer to press the mushroom!

Next in two years

“There is something beautiful in the way the saga advocates a form of freedom while putting the family first. I wanted to find the essence of these heroes whose superpower comes from the car,” insists Louis Leterrier. It’s successful, because we remain speechless in front of Fast & Furious X. To say that we will have to wait two years for the sequel that Louis Leterrier is preparing. We are very very excited. Vroom again!
