An object that fell from his 40-ton truck was fatal to a drunk truck driver on Autobahn 93 in the Upper Palatinate. The small part hit the car of a 23-year-old from Lower Saxony, who then followed the truck near Weiden. An informed patrol stopped the trailer truck on Sunday. The officials quickly determined the reason for the unsafe driving style: the 37-year-old truck driver was driving with almost 2.5 per thousand alcohol in his blood. The police ordered a blood test and prohibited the man from continuing his journey. It said he could face criminal prosecution.
