Suddenly everything happened very quickly: a mezzanine floor collapsed in a bar in London – several people were injured.

Several people were injured when the mezzanine level of a London bar collapsed.

The London Ambulance Service said 13 people needed treatment after the incident late Saturday afternoon. Three suffered potentially serious injuries, ten only minor ones.

Four people were taken to hospitals and trauma centers. The operators of the restaurant wrote on Instagram that fortunately no one suffered life-threatening injuries. The bar, which is also a restaurant, will remain closed until further notice.

The Two More Years bar is located in the Hackney Wick district of north-east London. Seven people who were stuck in the remaining part of the mezzanine were rescued by emergency services.

A man who was in the restaurant told the PA news agency that a kind of cracking sound was heard – then everything happened very quickly. Most of the injuries appear to be cuts and bruises.
