If you want to live well in old age, you have to take care of it yourself, says Christine Hannemann. The holder of the only chair for architecture and housing sociology in Germany researches the social change of housing at the University of Stuttgart. She calls for a building policy geared to the common good and financial incentives for people who want to move into smaller apartments; for example through an exchange discount.
