With his national team of the Netherlands, Cody Gakpo participated in fourteen meetings with the Oranjes for six goals (including 5 appearances and two achievements at the World Cup in Qatar). A very promising start which inevitably attracted the biggest European clubs wishing to bring the Dutch nugget into their net.
Liverpool make a big move
Liverpool, long interested in the profile and versatility of Cody Gakpo has reached an agreement with PSV for the transfer of the Dutch nugget, as announced by the Batavian club on its twitter account. “The 23-year-old striker will soon leave for England where he will undergo the necessary formalities before the transfer is finalized” can we also read in the PSV press release.
The two clubs make no announcement regarding the transfer fee but “It’s a record transfer for PSV” also said the general manager of the Dutch club Marcel Brands. It is therefore a great operation for PSV Eindhoven. It only remains to hope that it is also a great sporting operation for Cody Gakpo.
