The 7-day incidences in the cities and districts of the region have largely increased compared to the previous day. According to the latest RKI data Only the districts of Traunstein (from 222.0 to 210.2) and Berchtesgadener Land (from 145.8 to 119.4) reported falling numbers. In the city of Rosenheim (from 243.7 to 309.8) and the districts of Rosenheim (from 269.8 to 325.5) and Mühldorf (from 258.4 to 324.5) In contrast, the incidence has risen above the 300 mark again. In the Altötting district, too, the incidence rose by around 20 points (from 231.1 to 251.7).
Overall were in the region 466 new corona cases registered in the last 24 hours – Most of them with 206 in the district of Rosenheim, followed by 120 in the district of Mühldorf. There was also another death in the district of Mühldorf. The authorities have not yet given any further information on the age, gender and / or place of residence of the victim.
Strong increase in new cases compared to the previous week
The responsible Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has a sharp increase in the number of new infections transmitted within 24 hours compared to the previous week reported (News ticker Friday, January 7th). The value was taken on Saturday morning 55,889 stated, in the week before there were 26,392 recorded new infections. The RKI gave the nationwide 7-day incidence at 335.9. For comparison: the previous day the value was 303.4. A week ago the nationwide incidence was 220.3 (Previous month: 427.0). This is evident from the latest RKI figures (Status: January 8, 3:24 a.m.).
Germany-wide were according to the new information 268 deaths within 24 hours recorded. A week ago there were 184 deaths. The RKI counted 7,473,884 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 in Germany since the beginning of the pandemic. The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not recognized.
