According to the RKI, the corona incidences in the region have increased varied over the past 24 hours but have mostly declined. Only in the districts of Rosenheim and Traunstein have they increased.

The incidences in detail: District Altoetting (from 1965 to 1863), county Muehldorf (from 1989 to 1957), Circle Berchtesgaden country (from 2038 to 1869), county Traunstein (from 1888 to 1947), City of Rosenheim (from 2408 to 2386) and District of Rosenheim (from 2414 to 2415). The RKI reported none for the region further deaths related to the coronavirus.

RKI registers 125,160 new infections – incidence drops to 1466.5

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has reported a lower nationwide 7-day incidence than the previous day for the first time since the end of December – although the meaningfulness of the data is currently limited. The RKI gave the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week on Sunday morning as 1466.5. The day before the value was 1474.3 (news ticker, Saturday February 12). It is difficult to judge whether this indicates a plateau for the omicron wave and whether the rapid increase in infections in Germany has been slowed down. It could also be that the decline in incidence does not reflect the actual occurrence of infection, but is the result of an overloaded reporting and testing system.

Among other things, it could also play a role that some people do not have their positive self-test or rapid test clarified with a PCR test. They will then not appear in the statistics. A week ago, the nationwide incidence was 1400.8 (previous month: 427.7). The health authorities in Germany reported 125,160 new corona infections to the RKI within one day. This is evident from numbers that reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 5 a.m. A week ago there were 133,173 infections.

According to the new information, 58 deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours. A week ago there were 41 deaths. The RKI has counted 12,344,661 infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic. The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections go undetected.

The number of corona-infected patients who came to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days was 6.46 on Friday (Thursday: 6.23). These may also include people with a positive corona test who have another main illness. No data on hospital admissions will be published at the weekend. The RKI gave the number of recovered people on Sunday as 8,737,000. The number of people who died from or involved a proven infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 119,935.
