Derby cracker in Karlsruhe! On Saturday, Karlsruher SC will welcome 1. FC Kaiserslautern at the BBBank Wildpark. The KSC goes into the sixth matchday in tenth place in the table, the FCK has climbed to sixth place after three wins in a row and wants to improve in the southwest duel.
“We have had a good series that we want to expand on,” says Kaiserslautern’s coach Dirk Schuster in advance. While Erik Durm is out, the use of new signing Afeez Aremu is still questionable.
Puzzle before the derby: Karlsruher SC against FCK without Lars Stindl?
At KSC, the focus is on veteran Lars Stindl. Although the returnee had surgery on his hand during the international break, it could at least be enough for a place in the squad. “The emotions are palpable in the dressing room, I don’t have to point that out to the boys. As a coach, I want to steer them in the right direction,” says KSC coach Christian Eichner, looking forward to the special derby atmosphere in the wildlife park.
