INTERPELLATIONS

The death toll rises to 60 people arrested at the airport of Makhachkala, capital of the predominantly Muslim Russian republic of Dagestan, after Sunday’s incidents, Russian law enforcement officials said. During clashes with the attackers at Makhachkala airport, nine police officers were injured, two of whom were hospitalized, the Russian Interior Ministry added in a statement.

“DOZENS” OF FIGHTERS KILLED

The Israeli army said Monday that its forces had killed “dozens” of fighters during nighttime fighting in the Gaza Strip, bombed in response to the bloody attack carried out on October 7 by Palestinian Hamas in Israel.

The army said “troops killed dozens of terrorists who barricaded themselves in buildings and tunnels and attempted to attack them.” A fighter jet targeted a building “with more than 20 Hamas terrorists inside.”

PREVENTING HUMANITARIAN AID: A “CRIME”

The head of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Karim Khan, warned on Sunday that preventing humanitarian aid from entering the Gaza Strip could constitute a crime. “Preventing the delivery of aid can constitute a crime,” he warned the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to journalists on Sunday, after going to the Rafah border post, linking the Egypt to Gaza, where international aid for Palestinian civilians is piling up. “In Rafah, I saw stranded trucks, filled with goods and humanitarian aid, far from the hungry mouths and wounds” of Gaza residents, he added.

According to the magistrate, “Israel must ensure without delay that civilians receive food and medicine” in Gaza.

AIRPORT IN DAGENSTAN

After the assault on an airport yesterday in Dagestan, the ministry reported 60 arrests and 9 police officers injured.

In this predominantly Muslim Russian republic, a mob hostile to Israel hunted down passengers on a flight from Tel Aviv. These incidents were denounced by the authorities of Dagestan while the United States condemned “anti-Semitic demonstrations”.
