“What was said this evening does not calm the anger, we must go further”declared on TF1 Arnaud Rousseau, boss of the FNSEA, while the majority union, associated with Young Farmers, mobilized “more than 72,000 farmers” In “85 departments” to express deep discomfort.

The Prime Minister addressed numerous agricultural demands, without however mentioning pesticides, for which the FNSEA recently requested a “moratorium on ban”. The union is awaiting answers on other issues, linked to Ukraine, “overtransposition” in France of European environmental standards or upon the retirement of farmers.

For her part, Véronique Le Floc’h, the president of Rural Coordination, the second agricultural union, warned that her members’ tractors would “stay on the roads”, regretting that the government’s retreat on the GNR did not go further. The Confédération paysanne, the third union, classified on the left, also deplored measures which it described as “very largely insufficient”.
