The 16 years of Chancellorship of Angela Merkel are finally history and Olaf Scholz and the ministers of the SPD, the Greens and the FDP will lead Germany through the next four years. One thing is certain: Angela Merkel is the first in the history of the Federal Republic of Germany to leave the Federal Chancellery voluntarily and on her own initiative. And: Unlike what unfortunately happens in many other countries around the world, the transfer of power in Berlin was fair, respectful and completely peaceful.
