Anyone who has always rubbed shoulders with the FDP will see their dislike confirmed: The Federal Minister of Finance has declared that the ongoing consultations on the 2024 budget have failed for the time being because he has requested several green and SPD-led ministries to spend billions, for example in climate protection, of family and defense policies is unaffordable. The FDP as a blocker, brakeman and spoilsport, which is stopping the coalition’s oh-so-good projects out of a purely party-politically nurtured profile neurosis – such an interpretation of the events is likely to get caught in many places.
