Ligue 2: Sochaux concedes a draw against Paris FC

Two and a half months after the play-off to Ligue 1 won by Sochaux at Charléty, Parisians and Sochaliens met at the Stade Auguste Bonal to close the first day of Ligue 2. And the two title contenders shared the points during of this return to competition (0-0). Although in numerical superiority, the Cubs did not manage to win their first match of the season.

After a preparation without the slightest goal, Ibrahim Sissoko was expected for his debut under his new Sochaux colors. And his pressing on the Parisian goalkeeper Ivan Filipovic (2nd), who missed his dribble against the Malian striker, could have offered the opener to Tony Mauricio if the latter had not missed the target despite the empty goal . More dangerous than their opponent, the Yellow and Blue failed to capitalize on their rare opportunities. Author of a single shot in the first period through Alimami Gory (25th), Paris FC saw little of the ball and literally curled up in defense following the red card of its captain Cyril Mandouki (38th).

End of the game at nine against eleven

The second period went as the first ended. Reduced to ten, Paris let Sochaux come and held this draw until the end of five minutes of additional time, despite a second expulsion, that of Julien Lopez (90th + 1), warned a second time for complaining a little too vehement with the referee.

However, the Cubs pushed, besieged this well-grouped Parisian defense, and struck on goal, in vain. They especially lacked accuracy in the last gesture, apart from the goal of Sissoko (54th) signaled offside. Note the outings on injury of Lebogang Phiri (14th) on the Parisian side and Saad Agouzoul (69th) with the Doubistes.
