Marc, because that’s what he is called, remembers having seen red when the Ruthenian players began to celebrate their goal in front of the Bordeaux ultras. “I take it as a provocation. Looking back, I can say that I reacted instinctively for two reasons: the first is anger. The second is that I believe they represent a danger for them and for us because the grandstand is electric. What is the point of coming to celebrate in front of our bend?”asks the 45-year-old man, who says he surrendered himself to the police once the match was finally stopped.

“We talk about trespassing on the pitch, but for me the pitch starts behind the white line. So OK, legally I may have been on the pitch and I’m going to pay it. It’s an error of judgment on my part. go”continues the ultra, which then points the finger at a possible overreaction from Aveyron: “Indeed, I push them away, but not with the aim of hurting them. So let’s be clear: it’s not up to me to do it, I understand that we cannot tolerate that a spectator can s approach the field, but the disproportion is unreasonable.”

If he admits to being “sorry for all the people who had to leave the stadium prematurely and especially vis-à-vis the children”this restaurateur based in Annecy avoids getting confused in long and flat excuses. “However, we can consider that passion has taken over”, breathes Marc. Prosecuted for “penetration on a competition area of ​​a sports enclosure having disturbed the competition” and “violence having led to a total incapacity for work for a day, aggravated by premeditation”, he incurs, in addition to a ban on stadium, one year’s imprisonment and a fine of 15,000 euros.
