Ligue 1 – LOSC wins against Monaco after a completely crazy match (4-3), doubled for Rémy Cabella

Lille and Monaco gave us a crazy match as we like them. Probably the craziest scenario we have seen this season in Ligue 1. Seven goals, with reversals of situations and two formations which each led the score. We really weren’t bored at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium. And in this little game, Lille emerged victorious from this duel (4-3). The Dogues thus go back to sixth place in the standings, with 22 points. That is one unit better than ASM.

To tell the truth, this Lille success is generally deserved. Because Paulo Fonseca’s men, deprived of suspended José Fonte and Benjamin André, were the most enterprising throughout the game. They immediately took the game on their own and led twice in the first period. First, following a header from Alexsandro on a free kick from Adam Ounas (1-0, 21st). Then thanks to Rémy Cabella, at the conclusion of a huge job by Jonathan David whose shot ended up on the post (2-1, 39th).

The blunders of Chevalier and Djalo almost cost a lot

But Monaco, which has never abdicated, has often reacted well. First, well helped by the huge error of the northern goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier who let the ball pass between his legs on an almost harmless free kick from Caio Henrique (1-1, 34th). Then through Axel Disasi in the six meters on a corner after a service from Wissam Ben Yedder (2-2, 44th). The French international striker could have been the big man of this match.

Because he then gave the advantage to ASM by stealing the ball from the feet of Tiago Djalo (2-3, 53rd). Before missing the break point, too wait-and-see in the area allowing the return of Djalo (55th). The real turning point of the game. Because Lille continued its forcing and pierced, twice more, the Monegasque defense.

With a second goal from Cabella (3-3, 62nd), then a shot under the bar from Jonathan Bamba, well offset by Angel Gomes (4-3, 71st), Lille thus signed a third consecutive victory. Above all, the northern club has been full of confidence before two next difficult meetings, in Lyon on October 30, then against Rennes on November 6.
