Real Madrid is moving a little further towards a new title of champion of Spain. This Saturday afternoon, the Merengue won on the Osasuna pitch (2-4), during the 29th day of La Liga. At the Estadio El Sadar in Pamplona, goals from Ante Budimir (7th) and Iker Munoz (90th + 1) responded to a double from Vinicius Junior (4th, 64th) and goals from Dani Carvajal (18th ) and Brahim Diaz (61st). In the Spanish championship standings, Carlo Ancelotti’s men, at the top, are ten points ahead of Girona, second, and eleven over FC Barcelona, third. For its part, Osasuna remains tenth.
In this collective victory, two men particularly shone. Starting with Vinicius Junior. The Brazilian very quickly opened the scoring, taking advantage of an error from Alejandro Catena before going to adjust Sergio Herrera, with a cross strike with his right foot at ground level, from a very tight angle (4th, 0- 1). His second goal came after the hour mark, from the outside of the right foot, at the end of the run and still from a tight angle (64th, 1-4). Vinicius Junior has scored in four consecutive matches for Real Madrid in all competitions. On this second achievement, the attacker was well served by Federico Valverde.
Güler almost scored the goal of the year
The Uruguayan midfielder delivered three assists in this meeting. The first took place in the first act. The Merengue dominated this meeting. So much so that the score could have been much higher. The visitors’ fifth goal was even scored by Lucas Vazquez, after a first strike from Luka Modric, but he was ultimately in an offside position (88th). The untenable Vinicius Junior looked for a hat-trick for a long time (8th), while Rodrygo was unsuccessful (15th, 75th, 87th). Entering at the very end of the match, Arda Güler almost scored the goal of the year, but his lob from midfield landed on the crossbar (90th + 4).
The pressure is on Girona and Barça
Opposite, Osasuna certainly made Real Madrid doubt. But for eleven minutes maximum. Between the equalizing goal of Ante Budimir (7th, 1-1), who has scored fifteen goals this season in the elite, and that of Carvajal. At the end of the match, in added time, Iker Munoz reduced the gap (90th + 1, 2-4).
