Life in prison for burying his wife alive and making people believe she had left him

On May 9, the courts of the State of Arizona (United States) sentenced a man who was accused of having killed his wife by burying her alive to life in prison. The 62-year-old accused had pleaded guilty to these acts dating back to 2017. He was appearing for acts of first degree murder, kidnapping, forgery and fraud, details NBC News this Monday. The 39-year-old victim was reported missing in May 2017.

Divorce proceedings were then underway between her and her husband. However, the couple still lived under the same roof with their two children. The body of the mother was discovered in a grave dug in a rural area located about fifteen kilometers from her home. Experts certified that she was buried alive there and that she struggled while underground.

The victim, tied and gagged, remained conscious for several minutes before losing consciousness, they assured. After the disappearance of the thirty-year-old, investigators discovered two handwritten words appearing to have been written by the latter. She explained that she was leaving her husband and leaving him her vehicles, the house and the care of the children. Analyzes had, however, shown that it was the accused who had written the little words.
