A man is said to have seriously injured his son with a knife in Upper Franconia. A verbal argument on Tuesday evening turned into an attack by the 53-year-old on the 17-year-old, police and public prosecutors said on Thursday in Bayreuth.
The father is said to have grabbed a kitchen knife in the northern district of Lichtenfels and wounded the young person in the stomach area. The 17-year-old had to undergo emergency surgery in a hospital that night. He is in an intensive care unit.
The 53-year-old was arrested after the alleged crime and is now in custody on suspicion of attempted manslaughter.
