Three out of three for the Blues. The French team brilliantly concluded its group stage of the World Championship by dominating Slovenia on Monday December 4 in Stavanger (Norway) (31-27), also undefeated before the evening clash. Unleashed offensively, Olivier Krumbholz’s players finished at the top of group D and will approach the main round with full confidence.

Already qualified after their convincing victory (31-22) against the Icelanders on Saturday, the Tricolores did not lack seriousness or canes. And it was enough to make the Slovenes bend, punished at high speed for the slightest lost ball, offering the Blues a quantity of counter-attacks to take control from the first part of the match.

The final gap (+4) does not say everything about the good impression left by the reigning Olympic champions. Because if the attacks placed can still be refined, there are many reasons for satisfaction. Léna Grandveau (20 years old), holder in the absence of Laura Flippes, delivered her best performance in the selection, finishing as the best French scorer with six goals. The pair of centers Pauletta Foppa-Tamara Horacek was responsible for fueling it with their defensive activity, well supported by the very good second period of Hatadou Sako in goal (nine saves).

This successful performance places the French in an ideal situation for the main round, with four points already acquired and their destiny in their hands. They will face Austria (Wednesday), South Korea (Friday), before the clash against Norway on Sunday, with the two teams at the top of the group qualifying for the semi-finals. Relive the meeting.
