Lenggries: Fatal mountain accident at Brauneck – Bavaria

A 50-year-old woman from Taufkirchen crashed on Brauneck on Wednesday and sustained fatal injuries. As the police report, she reported her daughter missing around midnight after a hiking trip, supposedly to the Tegernsee mountains. At around 3:30 p.m. the mother had sent photos of Bergen to her daughter, but it took some time until it became clear that they had been taken in the Brauneck area. The search for the missing person was carried out that night with the help of a helicopter, the appropriate technology to locate her cell phone and mountain rescue services in the Brauneck-Axillary Heads-Benediktenwand area. On Thursday morning around 7 a.m., the missing person was finally found lying dead in the area of ​​the Armpit Heads-South Walls in steep, rubble-cracked terrain. The deceased was identified by her utensils. Apparently she had fallen from a great height on the steep terrain and was fatally injured.

According to police, one cause of the crash could have been the woman’s footwear that was unsuitable for the hiking tour. The body was finally recovered with the help of the Lenggries mountain rescue service, the police helicopter and two officers from the Alpine task force.
