Laurent Wauquiez, LR president of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region, who has not yet formalized his candidacy for the regional elections in June, would come largely in the lead in the first round, according to an OpinionWay poll, published Monday evening. A survey carried out between March 22 and 27 among 1,100 people and requested by the Social Right, a think tank created by Laurent Wauquiez in 2010.

The main interested party would obtain 29% of the votes and would thus be far ahead of his main opponents including Andrea Kotarac, FN candidate, credited with 19% of the voting intentions.

Five lists able to survive in the second round

Bruno Bonnell (LREM) and Fabienne Grébert (EELV) would elbow with 13% of the vote, ahead of the socialist Najat Vallaud-Belkacem (12%), ranked in fifth position. The PC-LFI list would collect 7% of the votes. Five lists would therefore be in a position to hold for the second round.

In the event that the forces of the left would then merge, Laurent Wauquiez would win, again according to this survey. With 35% of the vote, he would win in front of the united left (27%) and the RN (22%).

Regional elections are scheduled for June 13 and 20. However, the scientific council must soon decide on its possible holding due to the health crisis.
