Late insight is better than none, that also applies to Olaf Scholz – Economy

For years, the CDU and SPD dismantled the German wind industry. Now the North Sea is to become a “green power plant”, and quickly. Sounds good – but a good portion of skepticism is appropriate.

That’s one thing with ambitious plans. It is often difficult to implement them, and the risk of failure is correspondingly high. The announcement by nine EU countries that want to turn the North Sea into a “green power plant” for Europe also falls into this category. Germany, France, England and the other nations involved want to solve a significant part of their energy problems with wind farms on the high seas. A project that has been postponed for far too long and is now finally to be implemented.
