A marriage dispute has escalated in an apartment in the Fürth district – a 38-year-old was seriously injured. The 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene, said the police in Langenzenn. Neighbors had called the officers about a loud argument. The man is said to have physically abused his wife and strangled her to the point of unconsciousness. After the officers entered the home, the man was arrested without resistance. The woman was meanwhile in mortal danger and was taken to a hospital. The five-year-old daughter of the two is in the care of the youth welfare office. The police are investigating attempted manslaughter.
