Lack of materials in industry declining – economy

The shortage of materials in German industry has decreased significantly. In October, only 18 percent of the industrial companies surveyed by the Ifo Institute reported bottlenecks, compared to 24 percent in September. Companies should now diversify their supply chains and increase inventory, according to the Ifo Institute. In car manufacturing, the proportion of companies affected by delivery bottlenecks fell sharply from 53 to 37 percent. In all other sectors the value is below 30 percent. In the chemical industry it is only 9 percent.
