Lyon overthrew Nantes (3-1) and put itself back in the fight for Europe. Thanks to this success, Pierre Sage’s men end their week in style.

TOPS

Lacazette, exemplary captain

Once again, the Lyon captain showed his team the way. Trailing for a good part of the match, Pierre Sage’s team came back to level thanks to Alexandre Lacazette’s 14th goal, making him the third top scorer in the championship. As a surface fox, number 10 deceived Lafont’s vigilance, author of a double save in the situation leading to the goal (75th). Lyon’s most dangerous attacker, with 5 shots, Lacazette had a full match.

Abline not stingy with effort

On a caviar from Florent Mollet, Abline came to place his head to deceive Lopes (16th). The young player was poison for the Lyon defense (he hit 4 of his 6 attempts on target). In addition to his goal, the Nantes left winger stood out for his efforts, whether offensive or defensive. He came to support his side Cozza on several occasions. Two-handed holds which limited the rises of the English Maitland-Niles.

FLOPS

La Beaujoire rang hollow

The meeting took place in a La Beaujoire stadium behind closed doors due to the breaking of 281 smoke bombs by ultras from the Loire Brigade, the main group of yellow and green supporters, on March 16 against Strasbourg. A match without fans which penalized the locals. The Nantes residents would have needed the support of their supporters after the two consecutive goals from the Lyonnais. An empty stadium which allowed us to hear funny things on the bench of Antoine Kombouaré and that of Pierre Sage. “What is VAR for?” or “Is he going to shut up?”

Tolisso lacking creativity

If Matic and Caqueret had a good match both in the conservation/distribution of the ball and in the direction of the game, it is difficult to say the same about Corentin Tolisso. Replaced at the hour mark by Rayan Cherki, the French midfielder had no impact on his team. He created no chances, only touched 47 balls (and lost nine) and committed two fouls.
