The unemployment rate in the district fell again in November. According to the Freising Employment Agency, which is also responsible for Ebersberg, 1521 people are currently entitled to unemployment benefits, which results in a rate of 1.8 percent, 0.1 percentage points less than at the end of October. In November 2019 – before Corona – the unemployment rate in the district was 1.7 percent. Overall, however, the number of people registered as jobseekers has increased slightly: 2959 were at the end of November, 14 more than a month earlier, but 151 fewer than in September.

In all of the four administrative districts in which the agency is responsible, there has been a decline in the unemployment rate. For everyone together, a quota of two percent is calculated. Like Ebersberg, Erding is also lower, here the rate is 1.9 percent, in Dachau it is 2.1 and in Freising 2.2 percent. The total number of people looking for a job has also decreased by 258 in the four districts to 14,837, a little more than half of them, namely 7,579, are entitled to unemployment benefits.

“The labor market in our region has seen increasing stabilization in recent months. The shortage of skilled workers persists

Nevertheless, the demand for personnel remains high, with 5,203 vacancies from all four districts together reported to the employment agency at the end of November, 197 more than a month earlier. A total of 1,457 positions are available in the Ebersberg district, an increase of 41 compared to the end of October. Nevertheless, a slight stagnation is also noticeable here, because the number of new jobs to be filled is falling: In the Ebersberg district, 226 vacancies were reported in November, 67 fewer than in the previous month. In all four counties together there were 1,034 new job offers, 125 fewer than in October.

The fact that the number of vacancies is still increasing is due to the continuing shortage of skilled workers in the region. “The figures make it clear: The need, especially for qualified employees, is increasing again. Finding good trainees and skilled workers, however, is increasingly becoming a challenge for many companies,” explains Nikolaus Windisch.
