Kyiv Independent: Editor-in-chief talks about censorship and patriotism

Olga Rudenko is the editor-in-chief of the young online newspaper “Kyiv Independent”. In the interview, the 33-year-old talks about censorship and patriotism, Selenskyj’s thin skin and when there can be peace negotiations.

As editor-in-chief of the English-language online newspaper “Kyiv Independent” you have been reporting daily on the war for almost six months now. How can you get through this mentally?
There are bad days, like when the Russians killed over 50 Ukrainian POWs in Olenivka. Then you get so agitated that you can hardly work. On other days I can switch off a bit every now and then, forget the war for an hour and think about the beautiful things. Life in Ukraine is divided into the period before February 24th and after February 24th. For us these are two different ages.
