Rescuer of a cat in need: At the weekend, the fire brigade in Krefeld went on an unusual mission – with a happy ending.
A cat in Krefeld drew attention to its predicament with a loud meow: It was locked in the engine compartment of a car. When the driver of the car heard the meowing on Saturday evening, she called the fire department. The emergency services bent the car’s grille a little and found a black cat in the engine compartment. They handed the animal over to animal rescue.
The fire brigade could not say whether the cat was run over by the woman unnoticed and thrown into the engine compartment or whether she had previously climbed in there by herself.
