Anna Schudt, episode star in the improv series “Kranitz – Money back in case of separation”, tells in an interview what she thinks of couple therapies.

“Tatort” star Anna Schudt (47) joins the action in the new episode of the six-part improv series “Kranitz – Money back in the event of separation”. In the third episode “Manni & Sandy – Barmbek instead of Bahamas” (November 3rd, 11pm, NDR), she and Bjarne Mädel (53, “Der Tatortreiniger”) play the lovers who were treated by the ominous self-made couple therapist Klaus Kranitz (Jan Georg Schütte, 58) Looking for help.

Manni (girl), contract killer and an old friend of Kranitz’s, screwed up a job and doesn’t know a way out. For 90,000 euros he was supposed to shadow Heino’s wife Sandy (Schudt) and put her aside if she cheated on her husband. Convicting her was easy for Manni, the rest failed. Manni fell in love with the professional marriage trickster and she fell in love with him. The result: Both are completely unable to act. Kranitz has to come up with something quickly …

Proven improv specialists

Jan Georg Schütte not only plays the title role. The improvisation specialist, from whom the improvisation formats “Klassentreffen” (2019), “Tatort: Das Team” (2020) and “Forever Summer 90” (2020) came, was also responsible for the direction and script. Anna Schudt also played in the first two. “That was the third film that I was allowed to be a part of and it is always a great pleasure when Jan calls”, she enthuses in an interview with spot on news about the renewed collaboration.

Schütte provided the framework for the characters, but the actors apparently didn’t have much more information. “Of course I knew what Sandy was doing and that she had a stupid crush on Manni. I didn’t know much more before the start,” confirms Schudt.

Dortmund- “Tatort fans will see her in” Kranitz “with a completely unfamiliar and very eye-catching styling Masks to feel good, it has to be right for the figure. I am very interested in drawing many different characters, even in extremes. I can take everything off again and again in the evening, “says Schudt.

Couples therapies and relationship tips

“Kranitz – Money back in case of separation” is about couple therapy or couple counseling, as Kranitz calls it. “Couples therapy – if it is a good one – is a sensational offer nowadays, in a relationship not so often failing at the same point,” says Anna Schudt. In one episode, Kranitz says that “normal couple counseling is always more of a separation accompaniment”. The actress sees it differently. “No, that’s an advertising slogan for Kranitz himself, that’s total nonsense,” she says. In another episode, the couple counseling is a birthday present. Schudt, on the other hand, likes this idea. “Great idea! That shows that the other person is ready to face obstacles and wants to move on with you.”

At one point or another in the series, couples should recognize each other in their behavioral patterns and problems. However, the filmmakers did not focus on being instructive. “We want to have fun, not spread a message, for that the characters and especially Kranitz are far too exaggerated and extreme,” explains Schudt. Her role of the marriage trickster who falls in love with the hit man who was supposed to kill her is wonderfully exaggerated. Nevertheless, the story of the two criminals, who can no longer be criminals out of love, has something almost romantic about it. “There is little that could be more romantic. A wonderful idea,” agrees the actress.

In real life, she has been married to actor Moritz Führmann (43, “How to Tatort”) for more than ten years. When asked for a tip on how to stay in real exchange as a couple, Anna Schudt replied: “Interest, mindfulness, talking, laughing. Time.”
