Konaté urges Thuram to join Liverpool

Ibrahima Konaté would like to see Képhren Thuram join him on the Liverpool side.

What if Ibrahima Konaté became Liverpool’s sporting director? Guest of the show Rothen ignites on RMC this Tuesday, the central defender of the Reds spoke about the situation of his teammate in Blue, Képhren Thuram. Author of a great season in Ligue 1 with OGC Nice, Marcus’ brother is on the shelves of the Reds for this summer transfer window. While waiting for a possible concrete offensive by the Scousers, Konaté praised his young compatriot:

“Khéphren, he’s like my little brother, he’s someone I saw growing up. I was with his big brother at the training center but Khéphren I saw him grow up. I saw him perform and progress to a level… It was incredible. Even when he came to the France team for his first selection. I saw him in training and I was really surprised by his size and his technical ease.”

“I would do anything to make him a top player”

The former Leipzig player hopes to see the Niçois join him on the banks of the Mersey. He even says he is ready to play the role of big brother in England in order to promote his progress. After signing Alexis Mac Allister, Liverpool know what they have to do to delight Konaté.

“I would be very happy for him to come to Liverpool, I would take him under my wing and I would do everything for him to progress and become the player he wants to become. Now it’s also up to him to work But I would do anything to make him a top player. It’s very difficult in the Premier League. Above all, you shouldn’t neglect him. When I was at Leipzig and I signed for Liverpool, a lot of people said that It was too early, that it was not the right choice. In the end, I proved all these people wrong, so we must not listen to people. If Khéphren has the possibility of coming to a club like Liverpool, I I think he’ll be surprised at the enthusiasm that will come from behind him. It’s up to him to work. He’s still very young but he has an incredible margin for improvement so I’m confident.”
