Large-scale police operation in Seubersdorf in the Neumarkt district in Upper Palatinate: On Saturday morning there was a knife attack on an ICE from Regensburg to Nuremberg. This was confirmed by a spokesman for the Upper Palatinate police headquarters for Bavarian Broadcasting. Accordingly, a male was also arrested.
Number of victims unclear
“There are injuries. How many there are is not yet known,” said the spokesman for the police headquarters. Furthermore, it is not known whether it is a terrorist attack. The police are on site with numerous emergency services. There is currently no longer any danger. At the moment there are no more detailed information about the people involved.
Police on the train
The train currently stops in Seubersdorf in the Neumarkt district in Upper Palatinate. The police received an emergency call at 9:20 a.m. Officials are on the train with a support unit. A spokesman for Deutsche Bahn said the Regenburg-Nuremberg line had been closed since around 9 a.m. “At the moment the trains are being held back at suitable stations.”
Around 200 people have to be taken off the train. As a spokesman for the fire brigade said to the BR, they are then supplied with drinks in a restaurant.
