The police are still looking for a knife man in the Hanover region. The stranger is said to have fatally injured a 35-year-old in Wunstorf train station on Friday afternoon.

The man struggles to survive in a clinic. “There is still danger to life,” said a police spokeswoman on Saturday afternoon. As the police confirmed to the NDR in Lower Saxony on Saturday morning, the perpetrator is still on the run. There is no further information about the identity of the suspect. At first it was said that the person being searched for was a 22-year-old man from Wunstorf.

Dispute escalates

According to the police, the man is said to have stabbed his victim several times and injured his leg and upper body. According to witnesses, there had previously been an altercation between the two men. The background to the dispute is still unclear. The investigations are therefore continuing. The police had used dogs and a helicopter in the search for the perpetrator.

Four witnesses take care of 35-year-olds

Four women witnessed the incident and rushed to the 35-year-old victim after being stabbed. The four first responders – a federal police officer and three nurses – cared for the bleeding man until rescue workers arrived at the scene. An ambulance took the critically injured man to a hospital. Police are investigating an attempted homicide.
